Hello from Pacific Women’s Basketball –
We hope you’re enjoying your summer. We’ve had a busy, but very productive summer thus far. We hosted over 150 girls & 50 high school teams at our summer camps in June. Our players had the opportunity to work & be role models for young girls in the Stockton Community. The coaches have been covering the map recruiting – traveling to Canada, Oregon, Illinois, Tennessee, Texas, Georgia, Nevada, Washington D.C., & all over California tracking and finding future TIGERS for you to watch. Most importantly, our entire 2016-17 team arrived to campus and started summer school on June 20th. Per NCAA rules, we’ve been able to work with them on the court, as well as in the weight room. We are looking forward to this season and can’t wait to see you in the stands.
As you know, we are leaving in less than a month on our Italian Tour. We will be in Italy from August 13th-23rd. Competitively, we will not only challenge ourselves with 3 to 4 games against Lithuanian and Italian teams before the season begins, but we are also allowed to begin practice earlier than the standard NCAA start day, with 10 permissible practice sessions before departing for Italy. Educationally, we will visit Rome, Venice, Florence and Lake Como for a first-hand cultural experience. We will be visiting museums and historical landmarks, and be eligible for independent study course credits. While this is a remarkably educational and valuable experience for our student athletes, it is also an expensive endeavor. To make this experience possible, we are seeking the help from our supporters.
