Tiger Talk: Tom Flores – 2/2

The Pacific Athletic Foundation is pleased to announce the return of its online series, Tiger Talk, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 5:30 PM PST. Pacific alum and NFL legend, Tom Flores ’58 will serve as the featured guest as he sits down for a one-on-one conversation with Tiger Talk host, Zack Bayrouty.

Tom Flores was the starting quarterback for the Pacific Tigers in 1957 and 1958, before joining the Oakland Raiders in 1960. There he became the first-ever Hispanic starting quarterback in professional football. Flores went on to win a Super Bowl title with the Kansas City Chiefs in 1970.

After retiring as a player in 1970, Flores immediately began his NFL coaching career, including stints with the Buffalo Bills, Oakland Raiders, and the Seattle Seahawks from 1971-1994. Flores and Mike Ditka are the only two people in NFL history to win a Super Bowl as a player, assistant coach and head coach.
