Fund Drive Worker Profile

Anthony Young – Campus Tigers

 AY

1) Tell us about yourself

I am a proud Pacific Tiger! I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in 2012 from the Business School. Before moving to Stockton about six years ago I lived in Fresno, CA where I was active in the community and sports. Now I’m involved heavily Pacific and starting to become more involved with the Stockton Community. Much my like my fellow Drive Workers you can find me cheering on our Pacific Teams!

 2) How did you become interested in Pacific Athletics?

As a student I always enjoyed going to Soccer and Basketball games so naturally that love didn’t die with graduation, it kept growing!

 3) Why did you decide to Volunteer for the Fund Drive this year?

Growing up I learned that it takes a village to raise a child that same logic tells me it takes an (orange) army to raise an athletics department to next level of competitiveness. The past six years I have watched Pacific play top ranked schools around the country and I saw us compete, some were wins some were losses but every time the smoked settle and the clock was at zero the constant was that I was proud to be a Tiger. So I look at being a volunteer as a way to ensure we keep being competitive and we keep growing our program. I’m only one worker, my impact is minimum but the day that the whole city of Stockton turns into Pacific Athletic supporter that is the day we shock the nation forever.

 4) Why should someone join the PAF?

To support our Student Athletes who have 6am practices, afternoon practice, crazy travel schedule, carry a full academic load, volunteer in the community, hold student leadership positions on & off campus, and still manage to be recognize as a stellar Student Athlete by exceeding both in classroom and on the field expectation. Pacific Athletics not only creates great athletes but cultivate the next generation of leaders and agents of change. Really the question is why wouldn’t you want to join PAF and be a part of something so big?
