The 2014-15 Pacific Athletic Foundation (PAF) Fund Drive came to an end on June 9 with very successful results. At a luncheon hosted at the Alex and Jeri Vereschagin Alumni House, the PAF announced raising $271,000 overall cash (renewals and new cash) and $55,100 new cash. Last year the Drive finished at $217,000 overall which included $48,100 new cash.
Congratulations to Team Paulsen (Rick Paulsen and Ron Addington) for winning the team competition, Rick Paulsen for winning the Bob Yamada Top Fund Drive Worker and Max Paulsen Most New Cash Award, and Leland Noma for winning the Curly Davis Most New Members and Frank DeParsia Rookie Award!
Rick and his father Max Paulsen have been Top Fund Drive Workers for over 20 years straight bringing in over $1.5 million to the PAF. Max was one of the founders of the PAF back in 1970.
“Our student-athletes, coaches, and athletic leadership have inspired me. Their commitment to win and put Stockton on the map motivated me to raise more money!”, said Rick Paulsen.
Leland Noma was in his first year of the Fund Drive and made a huge impact securing close to $3,000 new cash and $1,000 in Gift-In-Kind.
“Dr. Jonathan Loo got me involved and I am very happy he did. I realize, as stated by Ted Leland, that Pacific is a gem in our local community. I was motivated by the impact the Fund Drive has on Pacific student-athletes and the amount that Pacific alumni and boosters are willing to give,” said Leland Noma.
“I am very happy with these results as success for our teams starts with the Fund Drive. For us to be competitive in the West Coast Conference we need the Fund Drive to be successful. This new cash will give us a great start as we head into the 2014-15 school year,” said Ted Leland, Vice President for External Relations and Athletics.
“We knew it was very important for us to continue getting a 90% renewal rate and $50,000 in new cash during the Fund Drive to meet our year-end goal and we did that. All Fund Drives are special but this one was extra special as we had more than 20 new Fund Drive Workers work with our veteran volunteers to come together and make it happen. Our Fund Drive Workers are the heart and soul of the PAF,” said Chris Lynn Assistant Athletic Director/Executive Director of the PAF.
